
The church, built in mid XI century, is the only church of Lucca of this time, that has not undergone substantial changes and modifications.
Of exceptional interest, the building is an example of the most complete and pure primitive roman style in Lucca. Exterior and interior are of a consistent overall simplicity, the beauty is given by the harmony of proportions and, with regard to the façade, elegant hanging strands alternative to ups and downs of white limestone.
